# The setup wizard

The first time you activate Scrumptious, a short setup opens. It takes about a minute, and every choice can be changed later.

## The five steps

1. **Welcome** — what’s next. If recipes from WP Recipe Maker, Tasty Recipes or Create by Mediavine are found, you’ll see how many, with a link to import them.
2. **Look** — accent colour and card style (Full, Compact or Minimal). Cards use your theme’s fonts automatically.
3. **Features** — what readers can do: star ratings, servings scaling, US/Metric, cook mode, print button, share buttons, Jump to Recipe at the top of posts, and whether each recipe gets its own page. The recommended options are ticked.
4. **AI (optional)** — connect OpenRouter in one click, or add a Google, OpenAI or Anthropic key. Skip it if you like; Paste & Parse still works. See [Setting up AI](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/ai-setup/).
5. **Done** — shortcuts to write a post with a recipe, add a recipe on its own, or import recipes.

Each step has **Save and continue** and **Skip this step**. **Exit setup** leaves at any point; nothing you haven’t saved is changed.

## Running it again

**Recipes → Setup**, or **Run setup again** at the top of **Recipes → Settings**.

The wizard opens by itself only once, on a fresh install. It doesn’t open when you update the plugin, or when several plugins are activated at once.
