# Settings reference

All settings are under **Recipes → Settings** (administrators only). **Help & docs** at the top opens this guide; **Run setup again** reopens the [setup wizard](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/setup-wizard/). Each section’s **?** icon links to its help article. Click **Save Changes** at the bottom of the main settings. The AI section at the bottom has its own **Save AI settings** button.

Many options are **defaults**: each Recipe Card block can override them in its **Card display** panel.

## Recipe card

| Setting | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Accent color** | Raspberry (#e11d74) | Colour of headings, bullets, step numbers, buttons and stars on cards, Jump buttons and grids. |
| **Default card style** | Full | **Full**, **Compact (ingredients beside steps)** or **Minimal (no box, blends with your theme)**. See [Recipe Card block](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/recipe-card-block/). |
| **Buttons → Show a Print button on recipe cards** | On | Adds **Print recipe** to cards. See [Print view](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/print-view/). |
| **Buttons → Automatically add “Jump to Recipe” at the top of posts with a recipe** | Off | Adds Jump to Recipe buttons above the content of every post with a recipe, unless the post already has the block or shortcode. See [Jump to Recipe](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/jump-to-recipe/). |
| **Show on the card** → **Image**, **Summary**, **Times & servings**, **Share buttons**, **Gallery**, **Notes**, **Nutrition** | All on | Which sections cards show. Ingredients and instructions are always shown. Hidden sections still appear in Google recipe data. |

## Reader features

| Setting | Default |  |

With all four off, recipe cards load no JavaScript.

## Sharing

| Setting | Default |  |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Share buttons** → Pinterest, Facebook, X (Twitter), WhatsApp, Email, Copy link | All except X | Which buttons cards show. See [Share buttons](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/sharing/). |
| **Button style** | Round brand icons | **Round brand icons** or **Brand icons with names**. |

## Recipe pages

| Setting | Default |  |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Public recipe pages → Give every recipe its own page** | Off | Adds a page per recipe and a recipe index. See [Recipe pages](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/recipe-pages/). |
| **Recipe URL base** | `recipe` | `yoursite.com/recipe/chewy-cookies/` |
| **Recipe index URL** | `recipes` | `yoursite.com/recipes/`. Must differ from the base (an **s** is added if they match). |
| **Comments → Allow comments on recipe pages** | On | Recipe pages only; blog posts follow **Settings → Discussion**. |

## SEO & data

| Setting | Default |  |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Google recipe data → Output Recipe structured data (JSON-LD)** | On | Leave on unless another plugin outputs Recipe data for the same recipes. See [Google recipe data](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/google-recipe-data/). |
| **Uninstall → Delete all recipes and settings when the plugin is deleted** | Off | See below. |

### Uninstall

Deleting the plugin (**Plugins → Delete**) removes:

- **Always:** saved AI keys.
- **Only if this box is ticked:** all recipes, courses/cuisines/diets, ratings, settings, and the undo copies kept by the importer.

With the box unticked (default), your recipes are kept, so reinstalling later picks up where you left off. Deactivating the plugin never deletes anything.
