# Recipe Part blocks (build your own layout)

Want the ingredients in a sidebar column and the steps beside them? Or the nutrition at the very bottom of the post? **Recipe Part** blocks show one piece of a recipe each, so you can arrange them however you like with columns, groups and other blocks.

## The ten parts

| Block | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Recipe Ingredients** | Ingredient list, with servings scaling and US/Metric |
| **Recipe Instructions** | Numbered steps |
| **Recipe Times & Servings** | Prep, cook, total time and servings |
| **Recipe Rating** | Star rating readers can use |
| **Recipe Nutrition** | Nutrition per serving |
| **Recipe Notes** | Tips and substitutions |
| **Recipe Summary** | Short description |
| **Recipe Gallery** | Photo gallery with tap-to-enlarge |
| **Recipe Share Buttons** | Pin it, Facebook, WhatsApp, email and copy link |
| **Recipe Buttons** | Print and Cook mode buttons |

Find them in the block inserter by searching *Recipe*.

## Which recipe do they show?

In the sidebar, **Recipe** lets you pick one. Leave it empty to use:

- the current recipe, on recipe page templates, or
- the first recipe in the post.

Each part also has a **Show** menu to switch it to a different part.

## Example: two-column layout

1. Add a **Recipe Card** somewhere in the post (or pick a recipe in each part’s sidebar).
2. Add a **Columns** block with two columns (40% / 60%).
3. Put **Recipe Ingredients** in the left column and **Recipe Instructions** in the right.

## Things to know

- Google data is output once per recipe, however many parts show it.
- Parts use the same templates as the full card, so theme customisations apply to both. See [Developers](https://scrumptiouswp.com/help/developers/).
