# Nutrition

Nutrition is entered **per serving** in the block sidebar under **Nutrition (per serving)**.

| Field | Unit added for you |
| --- | --- |
| **Serving size** | free text, e.g. *1 cookie* or *2 pancakes* |
| **Calories** | kcal |
| **Carbohydrates** | g |
| **Protein** | g |
| **Fat** | g |
| **Saturated fat** | g |
| **Fiber** | g |
| **Sugar** | g |
| **Sodium** | mg |
| **Cholesterol** | mg |

Type numbers only (`12` or `12.5`). If you type `12g`, the letters are dropped and `12` is kept.

Fields you leave empty aren’t shown and aren’t sent to Google.

## Showing or hiding nutrition

- Site-wide: **Recipes → Settings → Show on the card → Nutrition**.
- One card: the block’s **Card display** panel.

Hidden nutrition is still included in Google’s recipe data.

Readers can also leave nutrition off when printing (the **Nutrition** checkbox on the print page).

## Where the numbers come from

Scrumptious doesn’t calculate nutrition. Use your own figures or a nutrition calculator, and enter them here. Imported recipes keep the nutrition they had in the old plugin.

**Note:** Trans fat and unsaturated fat are kept when recipes are imported and are sent to Google, but don’t have their own boxes in the editor.
