# Using WordPress AI (Settings → Connectors)

WordPress 7.0 added a built-in way to connect an AI provider to your whole site, under **Settings → Connectors**. Scrumptious can use that connection, so you don’t need a separate key.

## Requirements

- WordPress 7.0 or later.
- An AI provider connected under **Settings → Connectors** (providers are added by provider plugins, such as the official AI provider plugins on WordPress.org).

## Set it up

1. Connect a provider under **Settings → Connectors** if you haven’t already.
2. Go to **Recipes → Settings → AI (bring your own key)**.
3. Under **Use**, choose **WordPress AI — use the provider connected under Settings → Connectors**. It shows **ready** when a provider is connected, or a **connect a provider first** link when not.
4. Click **Save AI settings**, then **Test the connection**.

If you’ve never changed Scrumptious’s AI settings and your site already has a provider connected, Scrumptious uses WordPress AI automatically.

## Things to know

- WordPress chooses the model. The **Model** box doesn’t apply to this option.
- Your site owner or host may turn AI off for the site. If so, the option shows as not ready.
- Costs and data handling follow the provider you connected in WordPress.
